Our services

Pro(to)topia caters to the needs of NGOs, research institutions, public officials, philanthropic foundations and the private sector.  We strongly believe in diversity and transdisciplinarity. This is why we work with a wider network of experts and partners to create the best performing teams for each project. For instance, we are convinced of the need for strategic communications. To that effect, we have strategic partnerships with communication firms.

  • Policy-Relevant Research

We are experienced in policy-oriented research spanning a wide array of topics related to environmental and social policies. We have particular expertise related to policy development within the European Union, related to the interface between environmental policies and other major policy fields of relevance to care (economic, social, institutional, peace and security). Our recent research work spans from beyond GDP, feminist leadership, global governance and health. Our interests reach beyond Europe. We particularly want to support actors from the majority world and focus on policies  which can have positive impacts beyond European borders.

  • Strategic and Organisational Development

We specialize in providing actionable strategic guidance to civil society organizations, public institutions and private sector companies including context and opportunity analysis as well as the development of intervention strategies (including targets, tactics, activities and monitoring and evaluation tactics. We have proven experience at supporting civil society organizations and think tanks with their organizational development. From facilitating strategic planning sessions to conducting capacity-building workshops, we’ve supported numerous organizations in their journey towards creating meaningful impact.

  • Strategic Foresight

In our approach to foresight we foster the emergence of Pro(to)topias – tangible, future-fit, transformative visions that inspire positive change. We do so by analyzing trends, factors and forces shaping an issue, developing scenarios, using back-casting and stress testing to identify effective strategies.

  • Stakeholder and Citizen-Engagement

We seek to co-create visions leading towards a green caring society through engaging different stakeholders through the use of surveys, participative workshops and movement building. We also seek to engage members of the public, including students in classes and specific communities, but also the broader public through cartoons, audiofictions, theater plays, documentaries, etc.
