Pro(to)topia’s Launch
On "The Triple Crisis of Care: Relationality and Connectedness in the 21st Century"
“Consider relationships as the primary unit for public policy”
— Celine Charveriat
Today's overlapping crises are fundamentally crises of care and broken relationships. This opening event explored how alternative imaginaries and practices of care can help re-weave connections between people, societies, and the more-than-human world, through the lens of the triple care crisis: self-care, care for others, and care for the living world.
Who we are
The Forum for Caring Societies is a collaborative community of practice dedicated to promoting green care-centered economies and societies. We bring together researchers, activists, practitioners, funders, and policymakers committed to creating sustainable and equitable futures.
Funded by the Hot or Cool Institute and with the secretariat led by Pro(to)topia, the Forum works to build a multidisciplinary, evidence-based movement for systemic change.
Our community comprises both core working members and wider participants who engage in our activities. We host regular meetings for members, and on the last Wednesday of each month, we hold a public event that welcomes anyone interested in care, environmental stewardship, and transformative policy and practice.
The Forum’s mission is to cultivate an active, engaged community that collaborates, shares knowledge, and advances a collective vision of caring societies where humans and nature can thrive.
